Meet the Co-Founder

Approved through a rigorous coffee grading and cupping selection process in 1975, Edgard Rauscher built his career in the coffee industry before founding his own company in Santos, home to Latin America’s largest port.

According to him, three things kept him in the market this long: deep knowledge of coffee itself, close attention to weather and to domestic and international politics, and treating a commitment as something you keep, not something you say.

That same discipline – classification, negotiation, direct relationships with international buyers – is what buyers are actually relying on when they source through Zafra today.
